EVGENY ARTEMENKOV
Evgeny Artemenkov was born in Tyumen (Russia) on September 09, 1998, and started studying the violin at the age of 6 in the city of Samara under the teacher Irina Kaverina. During his school years Evgeny took an active part in concerts, festivals and competitions; he used to perform as a soloist as well as a participant in different ensembles and orchestras; he became a laureate of All-Russian and International competitions, such as "Maestro 21st century", "Maestro March", "Viola Art". Also at the age of 11, Evgeny entered the Yuri Bashmet Academy, where he took lessons with Professor of the Belgian Conservatory,ä Tatiana Samuil Professor of the Moscow Conservatory Alexander Trostyansky and with Yuri Bashmet himself. He also played on one stage with the Moscow Soloists ensemble in a concert together with Moscow Conservatory professor and guitarist Evgenii Finkelstein.
Later Evgeny took part of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yuri Bashmet, where he was for the beginning second violinist and later became the group's concertmaster. With the orchestra they have played at such halls as the Berliner Philharmonie, the big hall of Tchaikovsky' Konservatorium, Tchaikovsky hall, Brussels Philharmonic, Mariinsky theatre and others, working together with such conductors as Yuri Bashmet, Claudio Vandelli, Valentin Uryupin, as well as performing on one stage with Viktor Tretyakov, Sergey Krylov, Alexander Buzlov and Alexander Tchaikovsky.
At the age of 14 Evgeny debuted as a soloist with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Samara with conducter Mikhail Shcherbakov at the Samara Philharmonic, and three months later he began his studies at the F. Chopin Moscow State College of Music Performance in the class of Professor Ilia Tkachenko. In Moscow Evgenii continued concert and competition activity, playing on the biggest stages of the city and becoming a laureate at the Turchaninova International Competition (3rd prize).
Since 2017 Evgeny is living in Vienna and studying at the Josef Haydn Conservatory in Eisenstadt, Austria, with Professor Anna Kandinsky. He works extensively both solo and in various chamber ensembles and orchestras, studying also with musicians such as Johannes Meissl, Tamara Atschba, Irina Kandinskaya, Vida Vujic, Erich Höbarth, etc. Since September 2020 Evgenii plays second violin in the Kandinsky quartet, with which in such a short time they have already managed to win the third prize at the Boccherini competition (Lucca, and have taken part in festivals such as: Virtuoso & Belcanto (Lucca, Italia), International Summer Academy of the MDW University (Austria), Accademia Perosi (Biella, Italy), where they worked with Bruno Giuranna, Luc-Marie Aguera, Andrian Brendel, Oliver Wille, Artis Quartet, Mosaïques Quartet etc. Since 2022 the quartet has been working actively with Ebène Quartet at the Munich university of music. In the summer of 2021 Evgeny also visited together with pianist Elizaveta Tomanova the chamber music festival on the island of Brac in Croatia and took part in the Music Academy of the festival l'Eté Musical en Bergerac, working with professors Louise Chisson and Tamara Atschba.
In January 2023, he performed with Elizaveta Tomanova a recital in Ehrbar Saal, in the frames of the Esperus Concerts. He is also one of the chosen artists to participate at the project Ganymed Bridge 2023 in Vienna.
He is since Fall 2021 artist of the Esperus Art Fund.
